The Revised Kolyarut

This came of a discussion Tshern and I had, as we felt that monsters above a certain level basically stopped performing except in very specific conditions. This did not work for us, and we felt we had to amend this. Hence, this.

Kolyarut (CR 12)
LN Medium outsider (Extraplanar, Lawful)
Init +2; Senses darkvision 60ft, low-light vision, see invisibility; Listen +19, Spot +19
Aura auras; Languages Abyssal, Celestial, Infernal, and the native language of their first target

AC 33, touch 12, flat-footed 31 (+11 armour, +2 Dexterity, +10 natural)
136 hp (13d8+78 ), fast heal 5; DR 10/chaotic
Immune construct traits
Resist SR 22 (CR+10)
Fort +13, Ref +10, Will +11

Speed 30ft. (6 squares), 20ft. in armour, fly 30ft (good), 20ft in armour
Melee +3 short sword +18/+18/+13 (1d6+5, 19-20/x2)
Melee vampiric touch +15 touch (5d6)
Ranged enervation ray +15 touch (1d4 negative levels)
Base Atk +13; Grp +15
Atk Options spell-like abilities, sneak attack +5d6+13, Snap Kick
Combat Gear two +3 shortswords, +3 mithral full plate

Constant—see invisibility (if this is dispelled, it can be recast as a free action)
At will—discern lies, disguise self, fly, hold person, invisibility, locate creature, suggestion (DC 20)
1/day—hold monster, mark of justice (DC 20)
1/week—geas/quest (DC 20)

Some of the most important changes involve changing feats for stuff that actually matter and raising ability scores (and removing all odd scores). The AC is quite decent, although definitely not a strength of the monster in question.

Essentially, hit invisibility, toss Enervation and reactivate Invisibility. A DM might want to stick Quicken SLA there somewhere for either of those abilities.

Looks like good work, and I can see how that would make a sensible CR12 monster. It's true to the original material and still neatly improved.

Could you guys consider updating monsters on request?
